Commissioned by Solvoy b.v., Biogas Holland has been contracted to design, manufacture and install a biogas and heating plant at the sewage treatment plant in Zaandam. With this installation,  Hoogheemraadschap Hollands Noorderkwartier (HHNK) has the possibility to purify their biogas and convert it into electricity and heat by means of CHP and heating boilers. With this power conversion the Hoogheemraadschap provides in its own energy needs.

The heat generated by the CHP, is for own use with an extra connection to be able to supply surplus heat capacity to a district heating project in the future.
